Compete

Enter the arena

Everything you need to get a robot onto the field — how to sign up, what to bring, the safety checks, and the full ruleset.

Step 01

Expression of interest to be involved

Keen to be part of it — building, spectating, volunteering or sponsoring? Leave your details and we'll keep you in the loop as the club gets rolling. No commitment, just letting us know you're interested.

We'll only use your details to keep you posted about Townsville Robot Combat.

Step 02

Sign up your combat robot team

Step 03

Read the rules

Before you build, read the ruleset. It covers weight classes, the 90% plastic rule, allowed and banned weapons, arena conduct and the safety requirements below.

On the day

What to bring

  • Your robot, weighed and within its division limit
  • Transmitter, charged — plus spare batteries
  • Charged bot batteries and a LiPo charging bag
  • Basic tools and spares for quick pit repairs
  • A weapon lock for any active-weapon bot
  • Hearing protection if you're close to the arena

Safety

Arena safety checks

Every bot passes a quick safety inspection before it fights. In short:

  • A reliable power switch or removable link
  • Radio failsafe — weapon & drive stop on signal loss
  • A physical weapon lock fitted in the pits
  • LiPos charged and stored in a fire-safe bag
  • Any 240 V gear you bring is tested & tagged (a standard venue requirement)

Full safety detail lives in the rules PDF above.
